Unification Central-Western-European Energy market
Together with the adjoining TSO’s electricity transporter TenneT makes as much import and export capacity available to the market as possible. That takes place in the framework of the unification of the Central-Western-European Energy market. All recipients are entitled to transport up to the allocated quantity. The TSO’s warrant that the transports are executed in a safe manner.
The manner in which and procedures with which TenneT must allocate the capacity of the foreign connections is regulated. The allocation takes place via explicit and implicit auctions. These auctions are organised together with the foreign TSO’s. For this necessary linking of the electricity markets in Central Western Europe, it was important to record the contractual agreements between TSO’s properly.

As a project lawyer Jan Albert Timmerman represented TenneT in the conclusion of a number of agreements that will play a role in this linking between markets.
